Visitors walking around the city streets, squares and buildings can’t help but admire the architecture, especially in places such as the San Juan de Ulua Fortress and the Antigua.

 

The complex territory of Veracruz allows for the enjoyment of virtually any kind of extreme sport, such as mountain climbing, rappelling, and rock climbing at the Orizaba Peak; rafting, kayaking and descent can be practiced in its large rivers; excursions in the jungle, and scuba diving in the ocean, all guaranteed to generate adrenaline. Extreme sport lovers should visit the Nanciyafa Ecological Reserve and Catemaco Lake.

 

Veracruz is a state is known for its culture, from period architecture, either pre-Columbian or Colonial, to music and marvelous gastronomy, including museums, estates, carnivals and much more, which fill up the eyes and ears of every tourist. Culture truly flourishes everywhere in this state.

A place with a scent of coffee

Veracruz cultivates and harvests top quality coffee beans. Due to this, it’s easy to find numerous places to drink an aromatic and flavorful cup of coffee, or to buy coffee products. The Museum of Coffee and the Sanctuary of Coffee are must-see venues for those who want to learn about the entire coffee production process, from farming to grinding.

El Malecón (The Boardwalk)

Veracruz’s Malecón is a place to observe ships, to walk and feel the ocean breeze, to eat ice cream, drink coffee or buy some of the town’s best handcrafts.

 

 

Veracruz’s coasts are an important source of wealth due to fishing, oil extraction, and commercial exchange taking place in the country’s most important port. Veracruz is the perfect destination for business meetings.

 

Families traveling to Veracruz will find plenty of activities for the little ones. The port is a child-friendly place, where children are considered distinguished visitors. One of their favorite places is the aquarium, where a large variety of marine animals, from sea turtles to small fish, sharks and stingrays, are found.

 

The Children’s Port is a place for them to experiment and perform activities in a safe and healthy environment. Children can also be taken to archeological sites and to El Malecón for ship-watching.
